In 1994, the Constantin Giurescu was awarded to Nistor from the Story History Foundation. He was also awarded the Order of Dannebrog degree of Denmark in 2000.

Vlad Nistor is a professor of Ancient History and Archaeology in the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest.
