Vlad Nistor

Vlad Nistor is a professor of Ancient History and Archaeology in the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest. He is the Dean of the Faculty of History, as well as being the Director General of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute. He has also served as President of the Senate between 1998 and 2000.


Professional Experience[edit]

Nistor focuses his studies and research on: Ancient Greece and Rome, British Cultural Studies, and British History. He has written many works, some of which are: Forms of the Exercise of Authority in the Later Roman Empire (1997), Redefining End. City and Empire (2000), History of Ancient Greece and Rome Together (2004), and Culture and Ancient Civilization (2005). In 1994, the Constantin Giurescu was awarded to Nistor from the Story History Foundation. He was also awarded the Order of Dannebrog degree of Denmark in 2000.

Education[edit]

Nistor received a degree in History at the University of Bucharest in 1974. In 1993, he received a PhD in History at the University of Bucharest. He has a postgraduate certificate in British Cultural Studies from the University of Warwick.
