Ruud Koole

Ruud Koole was born on the 16th of August 1953 in Rilland-Bath. He has been a member of the Dutch Senate for the Labour Party (PvdA) since 2011.

Political career[edit]

Between 1975 and 1977 he was a teacher at the BDA (Library and Documentation Academy) in Groningen. From 1977 to 1979 he was a student assistant in Groningen and between 1981 and 1989 he worked as the director of the Documentation Centre for Dutch Political Parties at the University of Groningen. He has been an associate professor in political science at the University of Leiden since 1992 and since 2006 he has worked as a professor in political science. In addition to his career, he was a member of various different commissions in the PvdA.

Education[edit]

Between 1971 and 1979 he studied history at the University of Groningen. He studied political science at the ‘Institut d'Etudes Politiques’ in Paris between 1979 and 1981. He then received his doctorate at the University of Leiden in 1992.
