Reiner Haseloff

Reiner Haseloff was born on the 19th of February 1954 in Bülzig at Wittenburg. He is a member of the German Federal Council for the Christian Democratic Union since 2011 and is the Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt.

Political career[edit]

Between 1990 and 1992 he was the Deputy District Administrator of Wittenberg and the Head of the Department of Economics and the Environment. Between 1992 and 2002 he was the Director of the Employment Office Wittenberg. Subsequently, from 2002 to 2006 he served as a State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Labour of Saxony-Anhalt. Since 2006, he has been the President of the Network of European Chemical Regions ECRN. Since 2004 he has been the Deputy Chairman of the CDU in Saxony-Anhalt. He became a Member of the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt in 2011. Between 2006 and 2011 he served as the Minister of Economics and Labour of Saxony-Anhalt.

Education[edit]

Haseloff graduated from German secondary school in 1972 with the Abitur (A-Level). Between 1973 and 1978 he studied Physics at the TU Dresden and the Humboldt University of Berlin. From 1978 to 1990 he was a researcher at the Institute for Environmental Protection in Wittenberg receiving his doctorate in 1991.
