Niall Collins (Fianna Fáil) Member of Irish Parliament

Niall Collins, born 30 Marh 1973, lives in Patrickswell, County Limerick. The youngest son of Sean and Marion Collins, Niall is married to Eimear O Connor, a family GP and they have two young children, Conor and Kealon. Niall is a full time public representative, a Teachta Dála for the Limerick constituency.

Political career:[edit]

Niall was first elected to Dáil Éireann in the 2007 General Election as a T.D. for Limerick West. Prior to that Niall served as a member of Limerick County Council where he was elected to represent the Bruff/ Adare Electoral Area in the 2004 Local Elections. Niall is currently a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women’s Rights. The recent Boundary Commission report has made considerable changes to the Limerick constituencies, changing both territorial areas and constituency names. It is by far the most significant change in decades. Arising from this review, Niall will contest the new constituency of Limerick.

Niall is a qualified accountant having previously worked with Ernst and Young. Niall was also a lecturer in Business at Limerick Institute of Technology. Prior to his election to Dáil Éireann Niall worked as deputy CEO for Shannon Regional Fisheries Board.
