Milka Ristova
Milka Ristova was born in July 1950 in Radovish, Macedonia where she completed her primary and secondary education. She is married with two children and works as a Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Macedonia.

Milka Ristova’s legal experience is wide-ranging. She was the court clerk of the District Court of Radovish from 1973 to 1974, after this she became a judge for the same District Court. In 1977 she became a judge of the Municipal Court of Skopje, where she focused on criminal justice matters and was the judge responsible for the criminal department. Between 1985 and 1987 she was the judge in the District Court of Skopje, where she also handled criminal justice cases. Milka Ristova was the Deputy National Ombudsman of the Social Self from 1987 to 1990, and in 1990 she became the Government Advisor for the Ministry of Justice, where she was responsible for issues relating to the judiciary. She held this post for 6 years, after which she became a judge for the Appellate Court, acting on economic legal matters.
Education[edit]
Milka Ristova graduated with a law degree in 1968 and passed The Bar in 1974. She went on to gain a Master’s degree in criminal law and criminology in 1990 with a thesis entitled “Criminal Legal Judiciary in Macedonia from 1878 to 1912.” In 2005 she became a permanent educator at the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors. In 2010 she obtained her PhD with a thesis entitled “Responsibility of Judges of the Republic of Macedonia.”

Milka Ristova is also a member of the Organization of women’s organizations of Macedonia where she works towards women’s emancipation, equality and gender solidarity.
