Matej Tonin

Matej Tonin (born July 30, 1983) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the New Slovenia – Christian Democrats (Slovenian: Nova Slovenija – Krščanski demokrati, NSi).

Political Career[edit]

He became politicaly active in 2001 when he joined the municipal committee of NSi Kamnik. At the local elections in 2006 and 2010, he was elected to the municipal council of the Municipality of Kamnik. Until October 2008, Tonin was employed at the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, where he was a consultant in charge of public relations.

At the end of 2010 he was elected Vice-President of NSi, on the first preliminary parliamentary elections in 2011 Tonin was appointed to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. In December 2011, he was appointed the Head of the parliamentary group of NSi. He is currently serving the second mandate.

Professional Career[edit]

In November 2008, he decided to self-entrepreneurial career and founded Vision - Agency for Communication.

Education[edit]

In 2007, he completed his bachelor's degree in Political Sciences, and in 2010 he obtained a Master of Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana.
