Mary Moran

Mary Moran (June 28, 1960) is an Irish politician and former secondary school teacher.

Political Career[edit]

In May 2011, she was nominated by the prime minister to be a member of the Irish Senate. She joined the Labour Party as spokesperson on Education, Disability, Mental Health and Equality. She was also appointed to the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement and to the Joint Committee on Education and Social Protection.

Education[edit]

Moran was educated at St. Vincent's Secondary School and obtained a degree from University College Dublin.

Notable works[edit]

Mary Moran has got over 25 years of experience in education as a secondary school teacher in Dundalk. In 2011, she became the first female member of the Oireachtas representing Co Louth from any political party.
