María Elvira Larriba Leira

María Elvira Larriba Leira was born on 15th December 1961, in Madrid, Spain. She is a Spanish politician, a member of the Spanish Senate and a member of the Popular Party (PP).

Political Career[edit]

In 2007, María Elvira Larriba Leira joined the government of Vigo as a municipal councilor representing the Popular Party of Galicia, in charge of the Culture and Education boards. From 2007 until 2011 she remained as a councilor in the City Hall of Vigo and, in 2011, she represented the Popular Party of Vigo in the list for the Spanish Senate. Currently, she is Spokesman for Fishing in the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and vocal in the Committee on Culture and in the Committee on Health and Social Services.

Education[edit]

She graduated in Geography and History from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1986 and holds a Masters in Scientific Documentation.
