John Gardiner

John Gardiner, Baron Gardiner of Kimble (born 28 February 1956) is a Conservative life peer and member of the House of Lords. He is also Deputy Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance.

Political Career[edit]

He served as private secretary to five successive Chairmen of the Conservative Party between 1989 and 1995. He has also worked as Director of Political Affairs for the Countryside Alliance, and served on the Quality of Life Commission Rural Affairs Group of the Conservative Party. He was appointed to the House of Lords on the 23rd June 2010. He holds a number of roles including the Lords Spokesperson (Department for Culture, Media and Sport 2013, Lord in Waiting (Whip) 2012, Joint Committee on Security 2013 and was the on the HIV and AIDS Committee in the United Kingdom between 2010-11.

Education[edit]

Lord Gardiner of Kimble was educated at Royal Holloway, University of London, he graduated with a BA in Modern History, Economic History and Politics in 1977.
