Jasenka Ostojić is an associate professor at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb, as well as a conductor of various music groups within Zagreb.

Biography[edit]

During 1994, she became the stipendist for the Lovro & Lillz Matacic Foundation, as well as the conductor for the Zagreb Boy’s Choir. Three years later, she was appointed as the artistic leader and conductor for The Zagreb Youth Chamber Orchestra (ZOKOR). In 2000, she assumed the position as associate professor in the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb. From 2006, she became the conductor of the female choir, Cappella Zinka. A year later, she became the principal of conducting in the Harp and Percussion Department and the Music Academy University of Zagreb. In 2010, she became the conductor of the choir, Cappella ODAK. She remains in these positions presently.

Education[edit]

Jasenka Ostojić received a degree in conducting at the Music Academy in Zagreb in 1993. The following year, she received a post-graduate specialization in conducting from the same institution.

Notable Work[edit]

In 1998, Ms. Ostojić won first-place at a music competition in Rijeka with the Girls Choir of the Music School of Pavao Markovac. In 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999, Ms. Ostojić won the gold medal at the Music Ceremonies of Croatian Youth in Varazdin with the Zagreb Boy’s Choir. In 1999, she won the Ivan Lukacic prize at the Varazdin Baroque Evenings.
