Jana Schiedek

Jana Schiedek was born on the 9th of April 1974 in Hamburg. She has been a member of the German Federal Council for the Social Democratic Party of Germany since 2011. Besides, she is the Senator and President of the Ministry for Justice and Equality in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Political career[edit]

Before her political career, she worked as a research assistant in a law firm and for Rolf-Dieter Klooß, a legal policy spokesman of the SPD. Between 2002 and 2004 she did a traineeship at the Higher Regional Court. From 2004 to 2009 she served as an official of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Subsequently, she was an official of the Hamburg Port Authority till 2011. Between 2008 and 2011 she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament.

Education[edit]

Schiedek graduated from German secondary school in 1984 with the Abitur (A-Level). Between 1994 and 1999 she studied law at the University of Hamburg.
