Biography[edit]

Mr. Lamba studied history at the University of Malawi and then after completing his studies continued to work there as a lecturer. In 1974 he graduated from the University of Edinburgh. After graduation he was appointed deputy head of the Malawi Institute for Educational Research. From 1988 to 1991 he served as Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education and Culture. He became the Malawi ambassador in Paris then the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in New York. He speaks English, French, Chichewa, Tumbuka, Yao, Bemba and Shona.
