Franz Untersteller

Franz Untersteller, born April 4, 1957 in Ensheim at Saarbrücken, is a deputy of the faction of Alliance 90 / The Greens in the state parliament of Baden - Württemberg. Since 2011 he has been Minister of State for Environment, Climate and Energy. Previously, he was an energy policy spokesman for the Green Party in parliament and member of the Economic and Environmental Committee.

Political Career[edit]

Since 1983 Member of Alliance 90 / The Greens; 2003-2011 honorary board member at Öko-Institut eV; From 2006, Member of the Landtag of Baden – Württemberg; Since 2011 Minister for Environment, Climate and Energy of the State of Baden – Württemberg; member of the Federal Council since 2011.

Education[edit]

After completing his landscape architecture studies at Nürtigen University and an extended period of study in Colombia, he worked as an employee of the Öko-Institut in Freiburg.
