Encarnación Llinares Cuesta

Encarnación Llinares Cuesta, born 29 April 1954 in Finestrat, Alicante, is a Spanish senator representing the Spanish province of Alicante in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Llinares Cuesta is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE).

Political Career[edit]

Llinares Cuesta began her political career as a councilor in the city of Benidorm, Alicante, in 1995, and held that position until 2003. That year she was appointed an MP in the Parliament of Valencia, Les Corts Valencianes. During that period until 2007, she occupied the position of spokeswoman of Health. Nowadays, in the Spanish Senate, Encarnación Llinares Cuesta is the Second Secretary of the Commision of Equality, the spokeswoman of the Committee on Health and Social Services and the deputy speaker of the Commision of Rogatory. Finally, she is also a member of the Joint Committee for the Study of Drugs Problems.

Education[edit]

Encarnación Llinares Cuesta has a degree in Medicine from the University of Valencia.
