Elke Sleurs
Elke Sleurs was born on the 6th February 1968 in Gent (Belgium). She has been State Secretary of Poverty Reduction, Fraud, and Science in the Michel Government since October 2014 for the Flemish nationalist party (N-VA).
Political Career[edit]
She started her political career in 2007 in Gent as a councillor for the Public Office of Social Welfare in Gent. She is a former member of the Belgian Senate during the period 2010 and 2014. She has been a councillor in Gent since the local elections in October 2012.
Education[edit]
She graduated as a gynaecologist from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
