August Parengkuan

August Parengkuan speaks on "The Promotion of World Peace through Inter-Faith Dialogue and the Unity of Faiths" at theInternational Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy and Religion 2014 (Rome, Italy; March 31st-April 3rd, 2014).

Professional Achievements

Amb. August Parengkuan began his career in 1965 as a Reporter of Kompas for Court news. After having completed his studies of Political Science at the Australian National University, in Canberra, he became Senior Vice President of Kompas Gramedia Group. Besides that, Mr.August Parengkuan also joined the Public Relations Association of Indonesia as Chairman from the period 2000-2002.

He has now been appointed as Indonesian Ambassador to Italy, Malta and Cyprus as well as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Food Program (WFP), the UN Center for Human Settlements (UNCHS) and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit).
