Arda Gerkens (SP) Member of the Dutch Senate

Arda Gerkens (born on June 5th, 1965 in Naarden) is a Dutch Politician. From 2002 until June 17th, 2010 she was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the Socialist Party (SP) and since May 14th, 2013 Gerkens has been a member of the Dutch Senate for the SP.

Political Career[edit]

From July 2nd, 2014 Gerkens has been party secretary of the SP in the Dutch Senate. She has been a member of the Dutch Senate for the SO since May 14th, 2013. Arda Gerkens has been a member of the SP since 1999. She was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the SP from May 23th, 2002 until June 17th, 2010. From 1999 until 2001 she was the chairman of the SP department Amsterdam. From April 1998 until September 2001 Arda Gerkens was a board member of the district Amsterdam-Zeeburg. From 1997 until 1999 she was a board member of the SP district Noord-Holland.

Education[edit]

Arda Gerkens studied MO-education Religion and Dutch at the New Teachers Education (Hogeschool Holland) in Diemen from 1983 until 1989.
