Angelino Alfano

Angelino Alfano was born on the 31st of October 1970 and he is an Italian politician and the current minister of the interior since 2013.

Political career[edit]

Angelino Alfano started his political career with the Christian Democracy party. In 1994 he joined Forza Italia, the Berlusconi’s former party. In 1996 he was a member of the Sicilian Regional Assembly. In 2001 he became a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. From 2005 until 2008 he also held the position of Regional Coordinator in Sicily of the Forza Italia Party. He was minister of Justice from 2008 until 2011 as part of the Berlusconi IV Cabinet. From 2011 until 2013 he was also secretary of the centre-right party, and the People of Freedom, Berlusconi’s party (PdL).Then, in November he became the leader of the New Centre-Right party, which was a part of the PdL. He was deputy prime minister of Italy from 2013 until 2014 during Letta’s government.

Education[edit]

He studied Law at the Catholic University of Milan. He has also a doctorate in Corporate Law from the university of Palermo.
