Andreas Lykourentzos

Andreas Lykourentzos (Greek: Ανδρέας Λυκουρέντζος, born on 4 January 1957, in Tripoli, Greece) is a Greek politician and political scientist. He is a Member of the Hellenic Parliament, representing the Arcadia Prefecture.

Political Career[edit]

He was elected as a Deputy Member of the Parliament with the political party of New Democracy in the Prefecture of Arkadia in 2004, 2007 and 2009. In the period between 2004 and 2007, he was a member of the Permanent Committees of Social Affairs and of Public Administration, of the Permanent Committee for the Environment, of the Committee for the Immigration Politics and participated in the committees for the Revision of the Constitution and for the approval of the European Treaty. He was an alternate member in the Atlantic Assembly and secretary of the Selection Board for the armament programs (2004). He was elected again as a Deputy Member of the Parliament in 2007 and was appointed as Deputy Minister of National Education and Religious Affairs. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs and the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.


Education[edit]

Graduate of the Panteion University, faculty of Political Science. He attended two Master degrees in the same University. He also studied Technological Electrical Engineering in the Centre of Superior Technical and Vocational Training in Athens.
