The World Society Perspective refers to an emerging school of thought which seeks to describe the recent massive increase in [[globalization]]. Also known as the World Polity Theory or the Neo- institutional Perspective on the global system, the World Society Perspective emphasizes the role of global institutions and [[culture]] in influencing the behavior of states, governments, organizations and individuals at a global level. The World Society Perspective seeks to explain global change, particularly the spread of Western policies, as a result of the growth of global institutions and the emergence of an all permeating common world culture.
