Established in 1967, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized United Nations Agency dedicated to the use and protection of intellectual property as a means of promoting innovation and creativity. WIPO seeks to build a balanced and effective international intellectual property system that is in line with the social, cultural, and economic needs of all 185 member states. In addition, the organization works with these countries and relevant stakeholders to strengthen understanding and respect for Intellectual Property throughout the world.
