Werner Janssen

Werner Janssen, born in 1969 in Heusden, is a Belgian politician for the N-VA (New Flemish Alliance). He is a former laborer.

Political Career

Janssens participated in 2006 with the local department of N-VA in the municipal elections, but without success. He however did not throw in the towel and participated again in the elections of 2009 and 2010 as candidate on the national list. In the municipal elections of 2012, Janssens became fraction leader at the City Council. The biggest surprise came in the 2014 elections when N-VA obtained an absolute majority and Janssens was elected as Member of Parliament.

Education

Werner Janssen studied electrical engineering at the VTI in Beringen. However, he switched to education and took a course so he was able to teach.
