Water Security

The protection of vulnerable water systems, the protection against water- related hazards such as floods and droughts, sustainable development of water resources and the safeguarding of access to water functions and services. An element of water security includes ensuring that a population has access to a sufficient and reliable quality and quantity of water to meet their basic needs for health, livelihoods and production.
