Veselin Valkanov at the "International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy in the EU" (Brussels; May 22nd - 24th, 2014)

Veselin Petrov Valkanov was born on the 28th June 1961. He is the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Blgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Political Career[edit]

In 1986, Veselin Petrov Valkanov joined the Bulgarian Foreign Service, which brought to Zimbabwe, Indonesia and Australia. He also played an important role in the OSCE in Bosnia-Herzegovina, acted as a Senior Expert at the ‘European Integration’ Department, a Counsellor for Political Affairs with the Mission of Bulgaria to the EC and worked as an Acting Director General for Political Affairs.

He holds an MA degree in International Studies from the Sofia University for National and World Economy and Warwick University in England.
