Usage

Given a date, this template produces a description of how many days in the future or past the given date is. Dates in the future are described as "in n day(s)", the current date as "today", and dates in the past as "n day(s) ago".

Optional parameter {{{1}}} is the date to be described. If {{{1}}}} is omitted, {{{2}}} may be provided for use in place of a description of {{{1}}}.

If the year component of the date differs from the current year by more than one, the description may give the wrong number of days but will still be in the right direction. Anticipated use of this template is for scheduling short-to-medium term maintenance tasks such as deletion of abandoned articles, so intervals of more than a few weeks seem unlikely.
