Professor Dr. Soodursun Jugessur is the Chancellor and Chairman of the University of Mauritius, as well as the Chairman of the Mauritius Research Council.
Professional Career[edit]
As a scientist and engineer who has served the United Nations as the Chief of the Science and Technology Section of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and been the Head of the School of Technology, Pro-Vice Chancellor ,then Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University of Mauritius and the Mauritius Research Council, he has worked for over three decades promoting social and economic development through a better development and application of science and technology, while ensuring the needs of the economic operators and the community at large.

Soodursun Jugessur graduated from Madras University and Laval University in 1969.
