Sam Gyimah was elected as the Member of Parliament for East Surrey in May 2010. In July 2012 Sam was appointed a Minister at the Department for Education (early years, early intervention and childcare) and Cabinet Office (constitutional affairs). Sam has previously been a Government Whip (2013-14) and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister (2012-13). Prior to these appointments, Sam also served as a member of the International Development Select Committee and the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission.
