Rafał Grupiński (Civic Platform), memebr of the Sejm

Rafal Grupiński was born in Wronki, Poland. He is a member of the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament) and is also known for being a historian of culture, publicist, publisher, lecturer, literary critic and poet.

Political career

Rafał Grupiński originally belonged to the Liberal Democratic Congress (1991-1994) and then to the Freedom Union (1994-1997). He has been a member of the Civic Platform since 2004. In 2005, he was elected to the fifth term in the district of Kalisz - Leszno. In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he received a parliamentary seat for the second time. From November 16th 2007, he served as Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. In 2011, he was elected to Sejm VII in the district of Poznań. He is currently the Chairman of the Parliamentary Club of the Civic Platform and the Chairman of the Civic Platform in the Wielkopolska Region.

Education

Grupiński graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a degree in Polish Philology.
