As countries become more interdependent, both politically and economically, it becomes difficult for world powers such as the US and China to act solely within their own spheres of influence. In a multipolar system there are multiple centers of power, and countries’ foreign policy strategies are dependent on political, diplomatic, social, and cultural factors. The idea is that all countries are global players in the international arena, despite the differences and disparities that do exist between developed and developing nations.
