Michael Comiskey

Michael Comiskey was born on the 1st October 1953 in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. He is an Irish Fine Gael politician and farmer. He lives on a farm in Newtownmanor on the Sligo/Leitrim border with his wife Elizabeth. They have five sons.

Political career

Michael was elected to Seanad Éireann in 2011. He has been involved in public life for over 20 years. Michael was a candidate in the 2007 General Election and while he did not get elected, he managed to secure a very impressive 8000 votes. He was nominated the REHAB Leitrim Person of the Year in 2001 and has also been a member of the Leitrim Development Company and the County Development Board. Michael was also the Chair of the Fine Gael National Agriculture Committee.
