Term covering a range of media technologies that are used to reach large audiences. The different forms include broadcast media, print media, digital media, internet media, and outdoor media. Mass media plays a huge role in shaping our behavioral attitudes and influencing public opinion. It is often perceived as the main channel of communication in a democracy; the greater the access to media outlets, the more information we are able to obtain, and this helps to create a knowledge-based and more open society.
