Political career[edit]

Farrugia is a member of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee and the chairperson of the Environment and Development Planning Committee. She was elected for the first time in 2008 and then again in 2013. She belongs to the Party of European Socialists (PES).

Farrugia studied in dentistry and became a dental surgeon, before working in politics.
