Marija Antonija Kovačič was born on 11 March 1946 in Žerjave, Slovenia. She is a member of the Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia (Slovene: Demokratična stranka upokojencev Slovenije, also known by the acronym DeSUS) and is a member of the National Assembly (Slovene: Državni zbor Republike Slovenije).

Political Career[edit]

Kovačič's term of office began in 2014. She is the deputy chairperson of the Culture Committee, a member of the Committee on Finance and Monetary Policy, a member of the Health Committee, and a member of the Commission for the ontrol Public Finances Control.

Education[edit]

Kovačič graduated from the Faculty of Defectology of the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
