Maria Grapini at "The Berlin International Economics Congress 2013” (Berlin; March 6th - 10th, 2013)

Maria Grapini is a Romanian engineer, businesswoman and politician. In 2012, she became Minister of Business & Tourism of Romania.

Political Career[edit]

Maria Grapini served as the general manager of SC Pasmatex SA Timisoara in 1990 and was appointed as President of the Board of Directors of the company five years later. In 1998, Grapini was elected President of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Romania. From 2002 – 2006, she served as the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Timisoara. She also became the President of Timis county organization of the Conservative Party.

Education[edit]

Grapini graduated from the Polytechnical University of Romanina in 1978. with a degree in textile engineering.
