Maria Elisabetta was elected as a member of the Italian Senate for the first time in 1994 with the Party Forza Italia in Veneto. Since January 2014, she has been the national group leader of Forza Italia for the Senate.

Elisabetta was born in Rovigo in 1946. She took a degree in Law at the Pontificia Università Lateranense and became a researcher at the University of Pavia. Then she became a member of Berlusconi's Party and has dealt just with politics.

Political career

She was a member of Forza Italia since 1993 to 2009, when the Party changed name in Il Popolo della Libertà. In 2013 the name of the Party changed again to Forza Italia.
