María Teresa Rivero Segalàs, born in Llavorsí (Lleida) on the 11th August 1967, is a Spanish senator elected for the constituency Lleida in the 10th term. She is a member of Convergència i Uniò (a coalition of two nationalist Parties of Catalonia).

Political Career[edit]

María Teresa Rivero Segalàs was elected as senator for the first time in the current term. During this term, she is acting as spokesperson of the Constitutional Commission and of the Local Entities Commission. She is also 2nd vice-president of the specialised commission for the study to avoid rural depopulation. Before becoming a senator, María Teresa Rivero has been also a councillor of the city Esterri d’Àneu and also of the Pallars Sobirà County Council.

Education[edit]

María Teresa Rivero Segalàs has a diploma in Tourism for the University of Girona. She has combined her political career with work in the touristic sector with some family business.
