About KGHM[edit]

KGHM Polska Miedź (KGHM Kombinat Górniczo-Hutniczy Miedzi Polish Copper) is among the largest producers of copper and silver in the world. The company is traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. KGHM is one of the largest Polish exporters and the largest employer in Lower Silesia.

Engagement in Cultural Diplomacy[edit]

KGHM was founded as the Polish Copper Foundation, through which they made the strategic partnership agreement with the National Music Forum in Wrocław to help to the institution financially. Polish Copper Foundation made a financial donation to a copper dome for the Providence Church of God which will also serve as the Museum of the Pope John Paul II and Stefan Wyszyński, Primate and Cardinal of Poland.

Supporting Music and Visual Arts[edit]

KGHM, in cooperation with the Polish Copper Foundation, supports various cultural events and scientific, educational and medical institutions. The company makes efforts to save historical memorials and maintain relationships with Polish communities abroad. They have been financing lot of art and cultural events, including art exhibitions, theatrical plays, music and film festivals. KGHM has also supported music and video recordings, film productions and art workshops. The company has been purchasing equipment for cultural institutions staging theatre plays as well.
