Member of the Spanish Parliament (PP)

Juan Antonio Abad Pérez(Arnedo La Rioja, September 2, 1958) is a Spanish politician and economist, member of the People party. He is currently mayor in his hometown Arnedo, La Rioja. He is deputy in the Congress of Deputies and is also a member of the territorial Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

Political Career

He entered the world of politics entering as a member of the People's party. Years later began directing the municipal People's Party with which it was launched in 2003 mayor of getting elected Mayor of the Arnedo in town for being reelected with absolute majority in the next election. In the same year his first election also was a candidate for Congress in the lists of the People's Party for the elections to the Parliament of La Rioja in 2003 where he managed to get a seat for the V, VI Legislature. Later he left his seat in the Rioja regional parliament and won a seat in the House of Representatives after being introduced as the PP candidate for the general elections in Spain in 2011. On 13 December of 2011 he was a member of the Parliamentary Committee on road Safety and sustainable Mobility. He is currently a member of the Committee of Economy and Competitiveness, Employment and Safety Social fi and is also secretary of the Committee on Finance and Public Administration. From the day April 25, 2012 he became a member of the Territorial Council of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

Education

He graduated in Economics from the Catholic Institute of Business Administration (iCade) of the city of Madrid. After completing his studies he began working as an economist.
