José Luis Vallines was born in Colón (Cuba) on April 5, 1944. He is currently a member of the Spanish Senate within People’s Party (PP).

Political Career[edit]

Vallines began his political career as an independent deputy in the Parliament of Cantabria in 1983 and subsequently in the ranks of Popular / Popular Alliance Party until 1995. From 1990 to 1991, he served as Vice President and Minister of Public Works and Urban Development in the Government of Cantabria.

José Luis Vallines was Secretary General and President of the People's Party of Cantabria between 1987 and 1995.

Education[edit]

Vallines studied Industrial Engineering.
