John Randall is the Conservative MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. He was born in 1955 in Uxbridge, and has lived there his entire life.

Political Career

John was elected MP for Uxbridge in July 1997 after the death of Sir Michael Shersby. Immediately following his election he was appointed to the Deregulation Select Committee. John has also been a member of the Environment, Transport and Regional Affairs Select Committee and its Environment Sub-Committee. He has been involved with the Conservative Party all his working life. In 1994, he became Honorary Treasurer of Uxbridge Conservative Association and later that year was elected Chairman of the Association. During the General Election campaign, he served as Sir Michael Shersby’s Election Agent. John was appointed as an Opposition Whip in 1999. In December 2005, he became Opposition Assistant Chief Whip. In May 2010, John was appointed Deputy Chief Whip (Treasurer of HM Household).

Education

He was educated at Rutland House School in Hillingdon and Merchant Taylors School in Hertfordshire. He graduated from the University of London in 1979 with a 2.1 in Serbo-Croat language and literature.
