Jan Tomaszewski - (born on 9th January 1948) is a Polish politician, football commentator, sport journalist, football trainer, former international footballer that played as a goalkeeper (was named Best Goalkeeper in the 1974 World Cup.) and a Member of Parliament (VII term).

Political Career[edit]

During the presidential elections in 2010, he supported the candidacy of Jaroslaw Kaczyński. In 2011 he was a candidate in the parliamentary elections from the list of Law and Justice in Łódź and won a parliamentary seat. He however did not join the party, and was therefore suspended for a month of membership rights to the PiS parliamentary club in May 2012. In July 2014 he announced his resignation from the club, but the president of the party, Jarosław Kaczyński announced his exclusion from the club the next day.

Education[edit]

He graduated from High School in Wrocław in 1967. In 1986 he completed a three-year extramural coaching studies at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw.
