The Centre aims at promoting an understanding of Portugal and enhancing the prominence of the Portuguese language through the development of Portuguese Studies and develop the knowledge of Portuguese language, [[Culture|culture]], history, politics and society. The Centre organizes interdisciplinary symposia involving Portuguese cultures, mediates protocols with Portuguese universities, promotes the exchange of professors and students and coordinates and develops Portugal -related research capabilities, building links with Portuguese organizations and institutions in education and the cultural sector.
