Ingrid Lieten

Ingrid Lieten was born on 20 April 1964 in Hasselt (Belgium). She is a member of the Belgian Senate with the position of Community Senator for the Flemish Socialist Party (SP.A).

Political Career

Ingrid Lieten started her political career as the Flemish Vice-Minister President and Flemish Minister of Innovation, Public Investments, Media and Poverty Reduction in Government Peeters 2 (2009-2014). After the national elections on May 25th 2014 she was re-elected to the Flemish Parliament and was appointed as a member of the Belgian Senate as Community Senator for the Flemish socialists SP.A.

Education

She graduated in industrial location and development, and law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). She also obtained a special certificate in business law from the VUB.
