Gwenaele Proutiere-Maulion is the Vice-President of the International and European Relations Division for the University of Nantes in France.

Professional Career

Gwenaele Proutiere-Maulion was a Senior-Lecturer at the University of Western Brittany and then at the University of Nantes. She served as Deputy Director from 1999 to 2004. Starting in 2004, she was the Director of the Centre for Maritime and Oceanic Law (CDMO) of Law Faculty of Nantes till 2011. She assumed her current position in 2012. Professor Proutiere-Maulion’s research are focused on: French and European Fisheries Law, Maritime Labor Law, Seafarer’s Rights, and marine resources. She is the manager of the FEMMAR Project of the CDMO. It is focused and researches on gender and women’s working conditions in the maritime sector. Furthermore, she co-edited “Piracy in Comparative Perspectives: Problems, Strategies, and Law.”
