German Book Trade Peace Prize

The German Publishers and Booksellers Association, the official representative of publishing houses and bookshops in Germany, has been awarding the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade since 1950. The award ceremony is held during the Frankfurt Book Fair, at the Church of St. Paul. The winner of the prize is awarded 25,000 euros, a prize fund made up entirely of donations. The 2012 winner was the Chinese writer, Liao Yiwu.
