After the Monday Demonstration, support quickly rises among East Germans to break free from communist rule; Prague makes an announcement, which aids the anti-communist sentiment. On this day, the West German embassy in Prague announces that they would allow East Germans to emigrate to the West. Up to that point, many East Germans had been living in makeshift camps and communities in Prague.
