Gérard Bailly (born January 28, 1940) is a French Senator representing the department of Jura and a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP).

Political Career[edit]

Bailly entered politics in the early 1980’s when he was elected Mayor of Uxelles. Bailly also became a Municipal Councilor of Jura and in 1985, he became the President of the Jura Municipal Council, a position he still holds.

In 2001, Bailly was elected to the French Senate for the department of Jura, in Eastern France. In the Senate, he has served on the Economic Affairs Committee and he is currently the chairman of the Group for Livestock Studies.

Bailly was educated in Agriculture.
