Franc Križanič was born on 4 December 1954. He is a member of the Social Democrats (SD; Slovene: Socialni demokrati) and a member of the National Assembly (Državni zbor Republike Slovenije).

Political Career

Križanič served as the Slovenian Minister of Finance from 2008 until 2012. Since 2011 he has been a member of the National Assembly. He is the deputy chairperson of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Science and Sport, a member of the Committee on Finance and Monetary Policy, and a member of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Committee.

Education

Križanič graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana. After passing the professional examination at the Economic Institute at the Faculty of Law in 1982 he obtained his Masters and Post-Doctoral degree at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana.
