Fabio Melilli was born on April 4th 1958 in Poggio Moiano, Rieti, Lazio. He is an Italian politician.

Job career[edit]

Fabio Melilli has a degree in Law. He has worked with Il Sole 24 Ore and with a number of Italian newspaper. Additionally, he has collaborated with some Italian and European research institutes and projects.

Political career[edit]

He has been town Secretary of Petrella Salto, Fiamignano, Marcetelli. He joined the Italian Party Democrazia Cristiana. In 1995 he became Mayor of Poggio Moiano. Later 1999 he joined Italian Party Margherita. On June 2004 he was elected President of the Province of Rieti and he was re-elected in 2009. In 2012 he resigned. In 2004 he became President of the Unione delle Province Italiane (Union of Italian provinces) but in 2011, he resigned. In 2012 he joined Partito Democratico and in the general elections of 2013, he was elected to the Italian Chambres of Deputies for Partito Democratico for the district of Lazio.
